How ClickUp Backup works

What happens after activation

Every day, ClickUp Backup connects through the official ClickUp API with the read-only access you granted, and takes a complete snapshot of the workspace you selected: tasks and subtasks with all custom fields, comments and activity, attachments, statuses, tags, assignees and dates, and the full space/folder/list structure — relationships included.

Each snapshot is dated and kept for your plan's history: 30 days on Solo, 90 days on Team, a full year on Business. Any snapshot can be downloaded at any time as a structured archive that reads fine outside ClickUp.

When you need something back

Two paths, both included. Usually you open the snapshot from before the loss and download exactly what's missing — a task with its comments, a folder of attachments, a client list. For bigger losses where data must go back inside ClickUp, every plan includes recovery assistance: support guides you through re-creating the records correctly, field by field.

What we never do

• We never ask for your ClickUp password — access is OAuth only, revocable by you at any time.
• We never write to your workspace — the connection is read-only.
• We never use your data for anything except the backup itself — no analysis, no sharing, no selling.
